The Michael W. Prenger Family Center serves as the Juvenile Attention Center for Central Missouri. Services include youth and family counseling, temporary shelter for adolescents and detention for youth offenders. The entire building is designed with electronic controls and monitoring including security cameras, monitoring screens, electronic door release, access monitoring and intercoms. The parking, entrance, and administrative wing are oriented along the major street, while the residential shelter is oriented toward the rear wooded area and creek for visually pleasing outdoor views.
