Phase One of this project began in 1989. The original design totaled
8,560 square feet and included educational spaces that integrated
children of all developmental levels including those with severe
disabilities. The project was founded primarily through private
donations.
In 1998 The Architects Alliance was again called to expand the facility
in two directions for additional therapy, classroom, exercise, storage,
and playground space. The additions included floor-to-ceiling glazing,
explored structure for hanging equipment, and auxiliary entry points.
