The program for the four-story addition includes a parish gymnasium, cafeteria, commercial kitchen, classrooms, school for handicapped children and outdoor play. The new design connects to three existing levels as well as an additional lower level in response to a sloping site. All levels take advantage of natural light and views. The new design combines contemporary building methods with historic references. Strict budget guidelines were required as funds were privately generated by parishioners and parents.
